Indefinite Hiatus
Hello everyone, it's been quite a harrowing few years for a lot of people and it's certainly been wild for the development of Reazura: Gem Tides. It's with a rather heavy heart that due to certain limitations set by the engine and the limit of my knowledge of coding that the game will be put into a indefinite hiatus.
This is not to say the game will 'die', but it does mean that in it's current state and due to factors outside of development that the game will be put on hold until I manage to expand my knowledge enough to create my dream game. The files for the game will be kept for future use and will be removed from the site. During the time I've worked on the game I've learned plenty of things that most beginning developers fall into, and those are as follows;
1) Features: I ended up trying to cram feature after feature into the game which had ended up being a detriment to both the game's health and my own. Some of the features were implemented with the help of plugins by creators like VisuStella while others were countless hours of tinkering.
2) Story: The story of the game changed wildly from the first ever buggy test build to the most recent ones. So many factors of the story were changed due to not sitting down and working firmly to establish the overall story the game and the world were to share, and as such after the most recent build I managed to finally get a written story that I can then work on in the future.
3) Gameplay: The gameplay of Reazura being a turn-based RPG is what I envisioned for it and thanks to RPG Maker MZ it helped to make the vision come to life, however; there were gameplay elements that couldn't be achieved such as 'transformations' for enemies and players, action commands like Paper Mario, and various other features. While plugins could help mitigate some of the stress, I am not made of money and since I plan on making the game for free I'd rather not spend money as much as I can.
I ended up diving headfirst into the deep end and paid for it with days upon days of trying and failing to create the game I had envisioned. I don't plan on giving up game development nor do I plan on giving up on Reazura. I simply need the time to expand my horizons and learn more skills in order to deliver the best the game has to offer. I want to thank anyone who gave the game a chance during it's buggy states, and I especially want to thank those who offered any help during the development process.
Hope to see you around,
James "DragonLuigi"
